I coached at LC high school, which was a bit of a change since I grew up as a panther. The first time I wore the orange and black it was a bit strange, and it was even weirder the first time we played Mead. It wasn't too difficult to make the switch, though, once I got to know the coaching staff and the girls. They are an awesome group of ladies and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to coach there! During the regular season I worked mostly with the JV team and with the varsity setter. Then as we rolled through the play-offs I worked with the varsity team. Not only did we win the GSL, but we won Districts, Regionals, and we swept State. Wahoo! Of course I can't really claim any of the success for myself:), I was just glad to be a part of it. I know that many people coach their entire lives and never earn a state championship, so it was especially sweet to experience it during my first year at LC.

Amy! I've been following your blog ever since you were in Australia, but was never able to comment on it since I didn't have a Google account. But I just started our blog for London (we leave in January), so now I can comment on yours! Oh my gosh, you're pregnant!!! I'm so excited for you, and can't wait to read all about it. :) Congrats on that, the new house, and LC winning state! What a great fall for the Hooks!
P.S. Sorry if I duplicated a couple comments (I'm still trying to figure all this blog stuff out!)
Wow I must admit I am a bit jealous. Much to your surprise I am not jealous about the state championship. I am jealous that you are coaching at another school! :) It is so fun to see pictures of you coaching, so selfishly sad not to see me standing next to you. Other than being a tad bit green with envy I am so happy for you! What an awesome experience! I can't wait to talk to you about it! Congrats Coach Hook! The Cougars and I sure miss you in Evergreen!
Ummm...thats amazing that LC won state. Its huge because Mead has won for like the past 5 years. Thats so fun, congrats Ame.
