Then Andrea and I (she visited for a week during her spring break) enjoyed breakfast on the beach with this view...
And then we took a walk and saw a koala in the wild ...
and then we spent four hours on the beach...
Today is not my "golden" birthday like last year. It's just number 26. No, I will not be taking any sunrise hikes or enjoying breakfast as the waves crash right in front of me. I definitely won't be sunbathing in a bikini at Noosa Beach. Instead, I will drag my very-pregnant self to school where I'll teach 25 squirrely 6th graders for a half-day and then have a few parent-teacher conferences. A lot can change in one year!
On a good note, however, my amazing husband woke me this morning with breakfast in bed before he had to take off for work. I'm also looking forward to catching my brother's tennis match this afternoon before heading up to the Hooks for a family dinner w/ both sides of the fam. Life is not that bad:).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Amy!
Hey Birthday Girl! Those were some pretty sweet memories we made last year on this day. I wish we could be together to celebrate again this year. Spring break is just around the corner for you...hang in there.
Happy birthday, Amy!!! Been thinking about you all day yesterday & this morning too. Hope you had a fantastic day, despite some of the drastic changes between last year & this year. ;) Good things, though... granted, Spokane may never have the inticing views and feel of an amazing day in Australia, but so glad you could enjoy time with family & the anticipation of a hugely blessed 26th year!! :) Can't wait to meet your little one in a matter of weeks?!!! (or, ok, like, a month-ish, but still... that's down to weeks!) :) Love you & hope to see you soon!
~Katie (and the fam) Ken wishes you a Happy (belated) birthday too! :)... and Jack and Maggie send birthday kisses. :)
I hope you had a wonderful birthday Amy. I know life is so different from where you were at last year. You look beautiful pregnant and your squirly sixth graders love you even if they don't show it. Enjoy your spring break. You deserve it.
Happy Birthday Amy! Enjoy your spring break this week- just got back from Spokane for Jared's spring break and enjoyed being back in the Pacific Northwest. There's no place like it once you've lived other places right!?!
