1. It was free (thank you, Corbetts).
2. It took Jonathan 12 seconds to put up.
3. It will not shed.
4. It will not die before the 25th of December.
5. No little ones can hide behind it.
6. If it falls over, no harm will be done to anyone/anything (and Clara can pick it up with one arm and hand it back to us).
That's right. It's the world's best tree.
Now I'm not quite sure it qualifies as a Christmas tree. I mean, it has green on it. But no evenly dispersed branches. Certainly no plethora of space for ornaments. I don't think it will win any Rockafeller Plaza look-alike contests.
But it was the perfect tree for this year. I think next year we'll do the whole Christmas tree farm outing that I loved growing up. Or maybe we'll trek through the woods in search of the perfect blue spruce? But maybe not. We might just fall in love with the look of the baby ponderosa pine? Or if not the look, the long list of perks that come with it. :)

That's my favorite tree yet.
It's perfect! Thought of you so much while we were up there --- had hoped to stop by & am sorry it didn't happen. We'll be up the week of Christmas & would love to see you guys then & meet your new addition!!! :) LOVE you! You're in my prayers all the time!
P.S. Got the frame today for your print. ;)
I love it!!
That is Hilarious!!! Very 'original' or not...Charlie Brown started that tree tradition I suppose ;) Too funny, when Carly said you were going out to Darren's property I laughed out loud wondering where you were going to find a full, lush Christmas tree out there...but I guess you wanted something different this year! & hearing all your reasons why, it makes perfect sense!
I was laughing as you toted that tree off our property but look at it now!! I love it!! Ya'll are great sports! It will be a Christmas to remember! Can't wait to hear the news!
It's the best "Charley Brown" Christmas tree I have ever seen! Is't the simplicity of a babe being sent to be the savior of the world what it is all about? This
is a perfect reflection of that simplicity. It looks like the Hooks might have a new family tradition beginning. Aunt Janice
