Christmas Time

This Christmas is certainly one I'll never forget. It's not because we did anything spectacular - as far as events go. We just spent lots of time with family. It was the perfect holiday season with a three week old!

We spent Christmas Eve with the Hooks. It was a low-key, relaxing day. We enjoyed being together and (of course) loved watching Clara and Sophia experience all our traditions. Christmas is exponentially more exciting with little ones. The highlight of present opening? Princess dress-up clothes for both girls.

P.S. The highlight to the Christmas Eve service was definitely Clara yelling "Good job, Papa. YEEAAH!!" after his choir song ended. It was dead silent. And our daughter is really loud. Wow. Thankfully everyone laughed. And Jonathan and I wanted to disappear ;).
Christmas Day (and the following six days!) were spent with my family who had all traveled to Spokane from afar. Apart from driving to my parents' house every day, I may have left their house three or four times. What did we do exactly? Not much! We played lots of games, watched movies/shows, went on a few chilly walks, ate good food, and spent lots of quality time together. It was the perfect agenda for me. And I was thoroughly spoiled with all the help with the two little ones. It's always hard to say goodbye at the end of such a great week. Here's to hoping my family members move home eventually ;). Our time, in pictures...

I can just see enthusiastic Clara cheering for her Papa at church :) (After all, her mama is a good encourager, especially when it comes to coaching and sports.) It will be a funny story to tell in the years ahead. I'm so glad that you got to enjoy lots of quality time with loved ones. Pausing is definitely a gift. On a less patient note, I'm dying to meet Caleb and to see the rest of the Hooks this spring!

Too funny!! Sometimes those Christmas eve services need to be livened up with a little improv & laughter!! And is that a gal pal I see on Ethan's arm in that last picture?! ;)
