This Christmas season we experienced a major "first" for our little family. We woke up in our own beds and had Christmas morning just the four of us, right here at home sweet home.
Yep, for the last nine years we have stayed Christmas eve night at one of our parents' homes. And we have loved it. We just felt this was the year to establish a few traditions in our own little family. And so we left my family's Christmas eve celebration at bed time and tucked everyone in at home. Not before setting out a little something for Santa and his reindeer, of course...

The morning started with stockings from Santa and unwrapped gifts from mommy & daddy. We took a break for some pioneer woman cinnamon rolls (thank you, Carly, for the make-ahead idea!), frittatas and lattes/hot cocoa. Then we returned to the living room for a little bit more gift opening. We stayed in pajamas until about eleven when we started getting ready to head to Papa & Nana's for the rest of the day. It was a wonderful - and relaxing - first Christmas morning as a family at home.

Looks so cozy and perfect. :) I LOVE the e in the reindeer note...so cute. And good job with the cinnamon rolls! I recently made those for the first time as well, and mine weren't nearly as symmetrical and nice-looking as yours.
