Last night we had a Tamalefest. What is a Tamalefest? An evening of tamale-making, of course. Katherine, Carly & I assembled nearly 100 delicious corn creations. I wish I could take credit for making them, but that was all Katherine. She had the masa (dough), the soaked corn husks, and the three different fillings (pork, chicken, and corn/cheese) all ready for us. Still, it was about a four hour production from start to finish. And definitely worth every second. Pure deliciousness (for the 2nd time this week!). I now have three gallon bags of homemade tamales in my freezer awaiting consumption. We shall see how long they last (not long, I'm guessing).

AND...it's true. Miss Clara is a crawler. I know I just wrote about her lack of motivation a week ago. She appears to have mustered some motivation - but only a little bit. She is still a slow mover. And carpet fluff still distracts (the evidence awaits...)

hooray for clara crawling! what does this mean for our coffee dates??;)
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I miss you and little clarie poo.
How fun! And exciting! I don't know that I've ever had tamales... I am forever inspired by your culinary creations & love for good food --- you rock! LOVE that Clara girl is on the move. It changes everything once they become mobile; but then again, simply their arrival into life changes ours too... all for the better. ;) Love you guys! Miss you. Whatchya up to Monday morn? Wanna meet up with Carly & I around 10am. (think her house as long as Neal doesn't need to study)
I love that the "carrot" for Clara to get is a thank you note. Not a toy. Same thing around here. And Haylee was slow for about the first week, too. And now, she's like lightening! I'd love to get our little 9 month olds together sometime. Let's do it.
yum and fun too. we're having dusty over for fish tacos on monday. a chocolate pie too. we'll trade a fish taco and piece of pie for a tamale
love you

Oh yum!!! When we lived in San Antonio, Texas...our neighbor was hispanic and made us authentic tamales all the time. I don't think I could ever muster up the stength to actually make them, though!!
My niece is so adorable! :)
