Lake Day

The first trip to the lake must always be documented. Nevermind that we were there for just under twenty-four hours. It was still the first of 2013 and I was excited to see how Caleb would react to the beach this year. Not too surprisingly, he loved it. And of course, Clara knows and anticipates time at the lake even more this year than last. We are so blessed to have this little slice of heaven to return to each summer.

One of the great mysteries of the lake lies in the fact that in less than 24 hours, somehow, despite the effort of packing, cleaning and food prep, one feels more rested in that short amount of time than in days spent elsewhere. Every time we visit the lake we have this same conversation on the way home. Are we crazy to sneak in such a quick trip? Was it worth it? And the answer is always yes.

Here are a few beach pictures of the kids first time at Priest this summer...

And there you have it. It is just the beginning of many more beach memories to be made this summer. We are going to have to watch Caleb like a hawk this summer. He is the worst combination possible of fearless and awkward. But seriously, having a four year old and one year old (finally) walker is the best. It's one of my favorite stages yet!
